Amazing News!

The state of South Carolina has started an Educational Scholarship Trust Fund. The fund will help public school students attend private schools like Saint Peter’s Catholic School. Families that qualify will receive $6000 per student to use toward tuition. That will almost cover the tuition at our school!

What can the scholarship be used for?

Scholarships can be used for children who will be in grades K5 and up next school year (2024-2025).

Who can qualify for the scholarship?

Families must be residents of South Carolina. Students who will be in first grade or up must be currently attending a SC public school that is not a charter school. All students who will be in K5 next year can apply, even if they are currently at Saint Peter’s School. Families must have a household income within the following limits:

Household Income 2022 Income
1 Person $29,160

2 Persons

$39,440
3 Persons $49,720
4 Persons $60,000
5 Persons $70,280
6 Persons $80,560
7 Persons $90,840
8 Persons $101,120

Is it difficult to apply?

No, you apply online and the process is quick and simple! You just need a few documents. If you qualify, you will receive the scholarship and be notified almost immediately.

What documents do I need to apply?

  • Proof of guardianship for each child (such as a birth certificate)
  • Proof of income (2022 tax return document or, if you do not file taxes, a W-2 form or other information on income)
  • Proof of South Carolina residency (such as a SC driver’s license, state-issued ID, or utility bill)

Where do I apply?

Have other parents already received the scholarship?

Yes! We already have heard from parents who have applied and received approval right away. They are excited that their children will be attending Saint Peter’s next year!

How long do I have to apply?

The deadline is fast approaching! Families must submit their applications by March 15, 2024.

Can you give me an example?

Sure! Mr. and Mrs. Robinson have two children who are in kindergarten and second grade at a local public school. They are residents of South Carolina, and they earned $69,000 in 2022. They have Grandmother Robinson living in the house with them, so they count as a household of five.

They meet the requirements, and if they applied, they would automatically be granted $6,000 scholarships per child. These scholarships would continue to follow the students each year, so long as the family still meets the requirements.
